Yay! Plan B is going down! :P

People need to know the risks of Plan B.
Nearly every time I read the paper or watch a newscast, I suddenly feel like Alice, tumbling down the rabbit hole. Things aren’t as they should be. The laws now being passed seem so unreal to me… how can these people think this way? It’s all up-side down. There is no respect today, especially on the sanctity of human life.

One such law was recently passed regarding the distribution of the Plan B, also known as the morning after pill. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has now announced the approval of Plan B, as an over-the-counter (OTC) option. Despite the decision to make Plan B more accessible , it does not guarantee that you are consuming a safe drug. You need to know the many health risks that Plan B holds. Here is what I have found to be the truth about Plan B, scientifically and morally.
First off, consumers have been greatly misinformed about the safety and reliability of Plan B. The media and organizations that support and market these products have shared many things condoning the pill, the majority of the media’s views being somewhat scrambled in truth.

When considering the health and well-being of the consumer, one of the things that the market has claimed about plan B is that it is a perfectly “safe” drug. I recently sent a letter to the Food and Drug Administration about my views on the Plan B pill and it’s negative impact. Not long after I had sent my concerns I received their reply letter , and in their reply they stated that Plan B "effectively and safely prevents pregnancy."[1]. The letter I received sounded very convincing, but upon researching I have found that the statements like these simply are not true. Here are the reasons why:
Plan B has potential health dangers for women using the drug. When taking this drug one risks exposing oneself to harmful side-effects. Here are some of the side effects that you risk when taking this drug:
-nausea
-vomiting
-infertility
-ectopic pregnancy (can be life threatening)
-blood clot formation.

"The morning after pill is a high dose of the birth control pill. And a low dose can cause complications like heart attack, stroke, blood clots," said Wendy Wright from Concerned Women for America.
By choosing to use this drug, we are not only aborting a child, we are risking our own health to end an inconvenient pregnancy. Very minimal researching has been done to secure the health of the women on the consuming end of this drug. And no long term research has been done to see whether or not women will be permanently damaged, or risk such diseases as cancer from taking these chemicals in large doses, and yet the FDA has approved its use.

As for being effective, emergency contraception is not a guarantee.
It reduces the risk of pregnancy by only 75%.

Plan B will increase sexual activity among teenagers. Many Americans are now worrying that this will seriously increase the spread of sexually-transmitted diseases. Studies have shown STD rates have increased in countries where the pill has already been available over-the-counter.[2] Dr. David Hager, a gynecologist from Lexington, KY., will not prescribe Plan B for his own patients, “I’m not in favor of promotion of a product that would increase sexual activity among teenagers,” he says. The easy access to Plan B will only increase intercourse at any age, knowing that the government will take responsibility for their mistake and hand them a pill.

And now Wal-Mart, America’s largest pharmacy chain, has thrown out its long standing policy and carries Plan B. With such easy access, what is to prevent 10, 11 or 12 year old girls from using this product?

Plan B is chemical abortion. How? Emergency contraception (Plan B) comes from the idea that if a woman thinks she may be pregnant after intercourse she could take large doses of birth control pills. If she is pregnant when taking these large doses, it may prevent the baby from entering the uterus and kill her unborn child.

Hours before the point when you take this drug the fertilized egg (baby) already contains more information than 50 sets of the 33- volume Encyclopedia Britannica. This is his or her genetic information/DNA, and will determine his (or her) physical characteristics, intelligence and even personality.
Abortion is never a safe option for women or, obviously, for the baby inside of her. Daniel J. Martin, M.D., Ltd., clinical instructor at the St. Louis University Medical School has said “The impact of abortion on the body of a woman who chooses abortion is great and always negative.” [3] Women who have an abortion have an increased risk of future of ectopic pregnancy and more than doubled risk of future infertility, also the risk of future miscarriages increase with every abortion.

I stand here as an American teen and watch as these laws are being carelessly passed, if only to comply with our wants and not our needs. I look around and see as things get “curiouser and curiouser”[4]. Catering only to what we want to be more convenient for ourselves, not realizing that things like Plan B are dangerous and should be avoided to prolong your health and the life of an innocent child.

Dare to Share?

Thesis: Christians need to share their faith.

Why?

- Jesus commands us to share the gospel.

- The stakes are high. Eternity is on the line.
* Family members, friends and people you love will spend an eternity in hell if they do not hear the gospel.

- It will strengthen our personal growth and rid our fears.
* The more we share the more we want to share.

- It will strengthen and grow the Church. Improve the body of Christ.

- The new will spread! (He told me, I told her…) Word of mouth.

- Christians need to preach the gospel with their lives as well as their words.

Jesus said to preach the gospel to all of the nations. If we believe what Jesus says is true than we should do what He said to do!

I redid my outline. My old one didn't really fit what Mr. Svendsen has been teaching! :P Maybe I'm finally getting the hang of outlining!

Next thesis

I have been thinking about what my next thesis should be, and I haven't really known what I want to do. So, I decided since I was already reading the Dare2Share book, I would write about the importance of Christians living out and sharing their faith. I think writing about sharing my faith will help me to put it onto practice more myself. That is my plan so far!

This was fun.

My rough draft is now sent and gone.
It's definitley needy, but hopefully Mr. Svendsen can help with that.

Organization or bust!

So, I decided I need to write down where I am going with this in a more structured outline, rather than rambling on like I do when I get writing. That way I can finish up my rough draft and make it smoother.
Kind of re-organize my thoughts for the benefit of my mind and not losing my thesis in the craziness of my brain. Here goes lots of things.

"Plan B is not safe" -plain enough?lol-

- The law concerning its despension should never have been passed because of its risks and purpose. Learn about these hazzardas drugs.

- It is, again, not safe. It holds potential health risks to all involved with dangerous side-effects (I'm working on finding an example of someone who was effected by this, if I can).

- It is killing a child without knives. It is chemical abortion. All abortion is wrong.

-Plan B should not be supported and should be avoided. Plan B is NOT a healthy choice for you our the child being aborted (most obiously the latter, duh).

This is the overall roughdraft in it's very roughest form. I just thought it would help me piece all I have together. Which is way too much! lol. Much more than I have posted already.

Plan B is un-safe.

Plan B has not been proven that it "safely and effectively ends pregnancy." (Quoted from the FDA). In fact, when taking this drug one risks exposing yourself to harmful side-effects.Here are some of the side effects:nausea, vomiting, infertility, ectopic pregnancy (can be life threatening)and blood clot formation.Emergency contraception also offers no protection against sexually transmitted diseases including AIDS. By choosing to use these chemical abortion pills, we are not only aborting a child, we are risking our own health to end an inconvenient pregnancy.

More & more stuff to write...

I encourage that everyone not believe everything they are told, and to research things on your own. I researched on this subject before and moreso after my contact with the FDA, this is what I have found to be true morally as well as scientifically in context to the drug.
Plan B (the morning after pill) is an emergency conratception drug, it contains a high dosage of the birth control pill. Recomended to be taken after intercourse with the results of preventing (or ending) pregnancy. Birth control pills are currently being used for three purposes: progesterone, estrogen or both of these artificial steroids combined. These are the same steriods that can be found in the typical birth control pill. Emergency contraception comes from the idea, that if a women thinks she may be pregnant after intercourse, she could take large doses of birth control pills. If she is pregnant when taking these large doses, it may kill her unborn child. This is called Chemical abortion, the taking of a life drug style. Also, very minimal researching has beed done to secure the health of the women on the consuming end of the drug, and yet the FDA has approved this use.

An introduction to my mind...

As you may know, a recent law was passed regarding the over-the-counter disposal of the Plan B, or morning after, contraceptive pill. A law that I believe should never have been passed. As an American teen, I stand in disbelief of how my generation is being persuaded to believe that these drugs on the market are safe, when we are being withheld from information that have the potential to harm your health and well-being. I look at these laws and watch as things get “curiouser and curiouser”. This new law about the availability of Plan B has particularly caught my attention. As one of today’s youth, I find it amazing how many girls like me do not know the full truth about drugs like these.
I recently sent a letter to the Federal Drug Association expressing my negative views about Plan B, and I was surprised at the response.

I suppose that is along the lines of my “introduction” as of now.
After that I'll go on to the points that it is not a safe drug, it is risking your health as well as a life.
I’m finding it hard not to “point-fingers” or call people LIARS! Lol. But, to simply get the truth across, pray for me not to be such a politician and focus on good writing.
Should I have pointed out that it was Lewis Carrol that I was quoting, or is it somewhat self-evident?
